The Pulau Tiga Island or “ Survivor Island “ was the choosen location for the filming of the CDS reality based television series“ Survivor “. Located about 35 nautical Mile southwest of Kota Kinabalu. It can be reached by first driving 140 kms to Kuala Penyu, a small settlement on the tip of Kilas Peninsula. From here it is 18 kms or a 30 minutes boat ride to the island.
This tiny island, with the size 4.5 km long and 1.5 wide, for a total of 20.7 km was believed to have been formed by a volcanic eruption just north of Borneo over a hundred years ago. The eruption expelled muddy sediment that built up the island to its present height of approx. 100 m above sea level. Warm mud still continues to ooze from those geothermal vents on the island, and slowly form some sort of mud volcano pool.

 

 

Day 01 Lunch,Dinner 

Assemble at PTR’s jetty in Kuala Penyu [located next to Shell station]for boat passenger manifest registration. At 1000hrs board PTR’s boat for about 30 minutes boat ride. Upon arrival, check-into respective room. Lunch. Jungle Trekking to the Mud Volcano site and later on free at your own leisure.

 

Free at your own leisure until departure time at 0900hrs or 1400hrs for Kuala Penyu. ~ End of Service ~
