Visa on Arrival of Malaysia
The new procedures for the issuance of VOA to foreign nationals are subject to the following conditions:
- To use Visa application form IM.47 – Pin. 1/97.
- Specifically for tourist purpose only and the duration for social visit pass is 14 days only.
- To produce “confirmed return ticket” within 14 days of the VOA. Immigration officers at the entry point are required to write down the time, date and code of the applicant’s return flight.
- Applicant is required to have sponsor in Malaysia. Immigration Officers at the entry point are required to obtain full name, NRIC number, full address and telephone number of the sponsor upon application.
- Other than individual sponsorship, travel agencies registered with the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia may act as sponsors for such VOA applicants. Immigration officers at the entry point are required to obtain the full name and NRIC no. of the agency representative including the name, registration number, full address and telephone number of the travel agency which acts as sponsor for the applicant.
- For record purposes, VOA applicants are OBLIGATED to indicate their place of stay in Malaysia. Incomplete application will not be entertained.
Entry points which are permitted to provide such facility include
-Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang (Incl. LCCT)
- Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Pulau Pinang
- Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Senai, Johor
- Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuching, Sarawak
- Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
- Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar, Tanjung Kupang, Johor
OTHER NATIONALITIES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ‘VISA-ON-ARRIVAL’ FACILITY
This VOA facility may be given to all foreign nationalities who require visa to enter the country EXCEPT:
Citizens of the following African Countries:
- Angola
- Burkina Faso
- Burundi
- Cameroon
- Cental African Republic
- Cote d"Ivoire
- Republic Congo
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Djibouti
- Equatorial Guinea
- Eritrea
- Ethiopia
- Guinea
- Bissau
- Ghana
- Liberia
- Mali
- Mozambique
- Niger
- Nigeria
- Rwanda dan - Western Sahara
Citizens of Afghanistan
Citizens of Colombia
Citizens of India
Citizens of Israel
Citizens of Pakistan
Citizens of Republic of Montenegro
Citizens of Republic of Serbia
Citizens of Sri Lanka
However, this VOA facility may be considered for citizens of African countries as stated above, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka provided they have a valid work pass which is still valid in other countries. Work card or pass is required to be scanned for record purposes.
Payment Rate
All entry points which issue VOA will charge a fee of RM100.00 in accordance with the Fees (Visa) Order 2006.
Visa Application
Chinese citizens may apply visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Malaysia. It takes about 3 days to process the Visa application. Applicant may submit the application via Travel Agency.
Note: Application submitted via travel agency is subject to additional handling charges.

The number of days required for processing Visa application at the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia: at least 3 working days.
Permitted to stay: 30 Days
Visa Validity: 90 Days

Requirements
Personal Private Passport
1. To submit the original copy of the passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity (more than 6 months of remaining validity upon returning to the country of origin); the last page of the passport must bear the holder’s signature in blue or black rollerball or ballpoint ink.
2. The passport must have at least two blank visa pages, excluding the remarks page.
Personal Photo
To submit one recent 2x2 inches colour passport-size photo with white background, taken within 2 years of the application.
